POSITION SUMMARY:
Develops comprehensive employer recruiting communication strategies, cultivates key partnerships, and establishes an extended professional network to effectively promote and market students and programs to local and national employers. Supervises unit staff and/or oversees a critical strategic function, process, or initiative. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as the main point of contact for prospective employers, provides advice and information about recruitment, engagement, hiring students, and addresses their needs
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for on-campus recruiting activities
- Develops relationships and working knowledge of relevant industries
- Provides students with information about career planning and employment opportunities and/or coaches students through the recruiting process
- Participates in the campus-wide career services community providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising, recruitment, and co/curricular programs offered by the school/college
- Oversees planning, coordination, marketing, promotion and execution of small- and large-scale events, including the UWRF Career and Internship Fair, on-campus interviews, workshops, and employer engagement events
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure event success and innovation, including generating new event ideas to increase employer engagement and revenue generation for Career Services
- Provides strategic leadership in building and managing partnerships among employers and key campus stakeholders, including academic departments, the University Business Collaboration Center (UBCC), and student organizations to expand networking, experiential learning, internship, and employment opportunities for students
- Serves as the primary resource for on-campus employers, providing guidance on student employment recruitment, position postings, and strategies to enhance the student employment experience
- Serves as the campus administrator for Handshake, ensuring the system runs efficiently and supports both employer and student engagement
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Previous experience coordinating, managing, and executing events
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with exceptional organization, attention to detail, and effective time management
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including a demonstrated commitment to providing clear, timely responses and reliable follow-through in all interactions with students, colleagues, clients, or customers
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a college or university setting, including significant collaboration or communication with one or more of the following groups: students, alumni, faculty, and/or staff
Previous experience working with employers, businesses, or economic development organizations
