Plumbing Construction Superintendent
Location: Charleston, South Carolina (some in-state travel may be required)Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
Jennings Mechanical is seeking an experienced Plumbing Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations for commercial and industrial plumbing projects. The Superintendent provides leadership for all plumbing installation activities while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with all applicable codes and company standards.Essential Responsibilities
- Lead all commercial plumbing installation activities.
- Supervise plumbing foremen, journeymen, apprentices, helpers, and subcontractors.
- Take off, obtain pricing and order materials
- Develop three-week look-ahead schedules and manpower forecasts.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and installation sequencing.
- Ensure installations comply with plumbing drawings, specifications, IPC, South Carolina plumbing code, and manufacturer requirements.
- Lead jobsite safety efforts and conduct weekly toolbox talks.
- Inspect work for quality and coordinate punch list completion.
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades.
- Maintain daily reports, labor tracking, inspection logs, and as-built drawings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 10+ years of commercial plumbing construction experience.
- 3+ years supervising plumbing crews.
- Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and codes.
- Ability to read construction documents.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- South Carolina Journeyman or Master Plumber License.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Medical Gas Certification.
- Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and BIM coordination experience
- Willingness to work overtime
Physical Requirements
- Walk active construction sites daily.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Stand, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods.
