As a Stewarding Supervisor, you will supervise and actively participate in the cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of kitchen production areas, dishwashing operations, and food service equipment. This role is essential to ensuring a safe, efficient, and organized work environment while supporting culinary excellence across the resort. You will lead stewarding team members, coordinate daily assignments, support training initiatives, and uphold Four Seasons standards for quality, safety, and teamwork.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Supervise daily stewarding operations and provide direction to stewarding team members.
- Organize work assignments and support team training, performance feedback, and development.
- Ensure proper cleaning, sanitizing, and storage of china, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of dishwashing equipment and other stewarding equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchens, production areas, drains, sinks, floors, walls, hallways, ovens, mixers, and other culinary equipment.
- Coordinate cleaning, polishing, sorting, and handling of silver while identifying items requiring repair or replacement.
- Ensure safe handling, use, storage, and labeling of cleaning chemicals and sanitizing solutions.
- Promote and maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Assist with inventory management of china, glassware, and silver.
- Respond quickly to spills and sanitation needs while supporting culinary and banquet operations as required.
- Build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with culinary teams and fellow employees.
WHAT TO BRING
- Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculous (TB) clearance card when working in food and beverage
- Previous stewarding experience and/or supervisory experience in hospitality, food & beverage, or a related environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of dishwashing equipment, floor cleaning equipment, sinks, and silver burnishing equipment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building skills.
- Ability to train, motivate, and support a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as business needs require.
- Ability to obtain required food handler certifications and ServeSafe certification.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 70 lbs., and push or pull equipment up to 80 lbs. throughout the workday.
- A genuine passion for hospitality, teamwork, and delivering exceptional support behind the scenes.
