The Maricopa County Human Resources Department is seeking a motivated, innovative, and solutions-driven Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator to support the 4th largest County in the nation.

We Require
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.
We Also Value
Experience administering FMLA and ADA services
Experience training all levels of employees and management on FMLA and ADA
Experience using leave management software
Experience using AbsenceSoft and Workday
HRCI, SHRM, or IPMA-HR certified HR professional
Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) or Certified Professional Disability Management (CPDM)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables/charts
Job Contributions
Manage all administrative aspects of FMLA and ADA through the Leave Management System, AbsenceSoft, and Workday, ensuring timely and professional services are provided for assigned departments
Consults with employees on confidential FMLA and ADA issues and facilitates employee FMLA and ADA requests for assigned departments
Reviews all medical information for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed
Approves or denies FMLA leave cases based on relevant medical information to determine eligibility and certification in compliance with state and federal regulations
Provides timely and accurate guidance to employees, HR Liaisons, and management regarding leave-related human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations
Presents FMLA and ADA related training to all levels of County employees and management
Coordinates all aspects of return to work for employees on leave
Keeps complete records and files of all FMLA and ADA requests and maintains leave and accommodation tracking in accordance with internal workflow processes
Generates and analyzes related leave reports as required
Working Conditions
Work occurs in an indoor office environment, managing time pressures and potentially high volumes of work
Standard work schedule Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, with eligibility for a hybrid work schedule after successful completion of training and demonstrated proficiency in all required processes
