The compensation listed reflects the full-time equivalent salary and will be prorated based on a 3-day-per-week part-time work schedule.
Why this role
You'll have full ownership of the People & Culture function for two offices — real autonomy, direct executive access, and the chance to shape policy, process and culture, rather than execute someone else's playbook. This is a role for someone who wants strategic scope and hands-on delivery in equal measure.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
- End-to-end recruitment and applicant tracking system (ATS) ownership (using existing system)
- Interview coordination, structured interview design, and hiring manager enablement
- Candidate communications, employer branding, and candidate experience
- Background screening and reference checking
- Offer letter, job ad, and interview scorecard template ownership
- Welcome letters, new-hire onboarding design and execution across NY & Detroit studios, and Investor Comms business
- New joiner induction sessions
- Full leaver / offboarding cycle management
- New-hire compliance onboarding
- Employee relations case management, investigations, and manager coaching across both offices
- General HR correspondence: contract changes, confirmations, salary review letters
- Americas specific compliance training platform ownership (Zywave): assignment, reporting, content, and automation
- Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) maintenance, and supplier contract review
- Onboarding and compliance reporting
- New York and Michigan employment law compliance
- P&C policy ownership and updates
- Employee feedback channel administration and routing
- Whistleblowing process administration
- Management training design and delivery
- L&D platform ownership development actions, reporting, and trend analysis
- New-hire learning content
- Consolidated HR reporting and trend analysis across recruitment, compliance, ER, and development data
- Insights and recommendations for the Executive Director and leadership team
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 6+ years of progressive Human Resources / People & Culture experience, including HR Business Partner or senior generalist experience
- Proven experience owning HR end-to-end in a standalone or lean-team environment — comfortable being the only HR presence in the room
- Working knowledge of New York State/NYC and Michigan employment law; multi-state HR experience preferred
- Experience managing employee relations cases and workplace investigations independently
- Familiarity with GDPR, data protection principles, and HR compliance frameworks
- Experience with HR systems such as an ATS, background screening tools , compliance training platforms, and L&D/performance frameworks
- Experience in a creative, marketing, experiential, or agency environment strongly preferred
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner directly with senior leadership.
