Position Summary
Reporting to the Information Security Officer, the Information Security Administrator is a member of the team responsible and accountable for the Vassar College Information Security Program. This exciting position collaborates with diverse technical teams to strengthen and streamline our security infrastructure with a primary focus on protecting existing services and deploying cutting-edge security technologies using AI, enterprise APIs, and SaaS platforms.
Responsibilities
Oversee Computing and Information Services (CIS) vulnerability management program.
Forensic investigations for information security incidents.
Linux and Windows Systems Administration.
Information Security procedure development and implementation.
Support college-wide Information Security Program with focused projects and operational duties as assigned.
Service Owner or Application Manager for on-prem and cloud applications that strengthen Vassar College's Information Security profile.
Optimize and fine-tune AI-driven capabilities within existing security stacks to improve threat detection.
Secure and monitor enterprise APIs and SaaS integrations to prevent data exposure and unauthorized access.
Manage security configurations across cloud and SaaS platforms to ensure benchmark compliance.
Integrate industry threat feeds to proactively identify and mitigate emerging infrastructure risks.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities
A minimum of two years of systems administration experience including systems build/configuration, systems optimization, systems maintenance, systems design.
A minimum of two years in a complex enterprise environment.
Proven experience with network protocols and architecture.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently both in a team and independently.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities
Security+ or other equivalent certifications.
Compensation
The compensation for this position is $71,700 - $85,000 per year.
When extending an offer, Vassar College considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, budget, and other market and organizational considerations. The starting salary range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting.
