WHY PATIENTS NEED YOU
The Director, US Vaccines Retail Contract Strategy will work across the US Vaccines portfolio to lead the development, execution and evolution of the vaccine portfolio contracting strategy specific to the Retail channel and Retail customers (including national and regional retail pharmacy chains and other retail vaccine customers).
WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE
The Director, US Vaccines Retail Contract Strategy will lead a cross-functional matrix team including the contract strategy and contract development teams, vaccine brand team leadership and the broader US Vaccine pricing and contracting team to develop and execute Retail-specific contracting strategies for the US Vaccines portfolio. Additionally, this role will lead Retail contract pull through strategies and analytics to assess the effectiveness of these strategies with Retail customers. The role requires strong business acumen, deep knowledge of retail drug pricing and contracting, solid understanding of an increasingly complex retail vaccine marketplace, strong team collaboration and proven matrix leadership skills. This is a 12-month secondment; the incumbent's home role and reporting line will be held during the assignment.
HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT
Lead development of Retail channel contracting strategies across cross-functional stakeholders as well as securing endorsement with senior leadership.
Function as the subject matter expert regarding Retail vaccine contracting on behalf of the US Vaccines Business; share Retail pricing and contracting knowledge and insights across teams; contribute to broader vaccine business unit planning and strategy development.
Collaborate with the vaccine brand teams to align Retail contracting strategy to the overall brand strategy and Retail contracting pull-through initiatives.
Lead execution strategies for Retail customer facing colleagues including Vaccine Account Directors, National Retail Account Directors, Retail Trade Account Directors and Vaccines Account Managers to implement the Retail contracting strategy; solicit and act on feedback from Retail customers to optimize pricing and contracting strategy.
Monitor and seek to continuously improve the operational effectiveness of the overall Retail vaccine contracting process in close collaboration with the US Market Access Contract Strategy team.
Lead matrixed team including Retail Account and/or Trade leadership, USMA, Legal, and Digital to implement Retail contracting strategies and align on contracting issue resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Have
Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 8+ years of experience.
10 or more years of pharmaceutical pricing and/or contracting experience.
Experience leading vaccine specific pricing and contracting functions with the Retail channel (e.g., national and regional retail pharmacy chains and other retail vaccine customers).
Demonstrated track record of strong business acumen, strategic thinking and project management skills in complex marketplace.
Proven track record of success with effectively leading a highly matrixed team, balancing diverse cross-functional perspectives, strong problem solving, leadership, and collaboration skills.
High level change agility, flexibility and comfort with addressing and adapting to ambiguity.
Excellent commercial, financial and analytical skills.
Nice-to-Have
Master's degree with at least 7+ years of experience; OR a PhD with 5+ years of experience, OR a MD with 4+ years of experience.
Experience developing and executing Retail channel vaccine pricing and contracting strategies in a competitive environment.
Demonstrated leadership experience including sales leadership, project leadership and matrix leadership.
Demonstrated account management experience in complex business-to-business sales.
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Up to 20% domestic travel.

Secondment 12 months
