ROLE & PURPOSE

The Manager, Strategic Projects is a trusted collaborator to the President & CEO of Cartier Japan, helping translate Cartier Japan's strategic priorities into aligned decisions and disciplined execution.

Working closely with the Japan Executive Committee (ExCo), ExCo members' direct reports, Cartier headquarters and Richemont Group functions, the role enables the President & CEO to engage effectively with key stakeholders, connect perspectives across the organization, and ensure clear guidance, ownership and follow-through.

The role owns and orchestrates core strategic-management processes, including the Market Action Plan, and supports or leads selected cross-functional and Exco-sponsored initiatives. It brings structure to complex topics, provides analysis and advice, surfaces risks and decisions, and strengthens communication and collaboration across functions.

The portfolio will evolve with business needs and the strengths of the person appointed. Success requires leadership through influence, resourcefulness, discretion, self-motivation, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to learn Maison processes and stakeholder dynamics quickly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategic planning and Market Action Plan: Own and orchestrate the overall process, setting the theme, narrative, and structure with the President & CEO and Exco while working alongside functions. Partner with functional teams to coordinate analysis for business planning and follow-up actions
• CEO advisory and decision support: Bring structure to complex or ambiguous topics, synthesize analysis and develop clear recommendations
• Strategic projects: Support and lead selected strategic and CEO/Exco-sponsored projects, bringing structure, coordination and momentum from definition through execution
• Executive Committee and management rhythm: Participate in and lead ExCo meetings and off-sites as appropriate, own the annual management rhythm, and support clear decisions and follow-through.
• Stakeholder and organizational alignment: Connect functions, boutiques, Cartier and Group stakeholders, and Richemont teams; encourage cross-functional collaboration; and contribute to selected organization-wide initiatives where relevant.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required

• Proven ability to operate in complex, international, intercultural and cross-functional environments
• Absolute discretion and integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information
• Demonstrated self-motivation and adaptability, designing own work to be most value-add and responding effectively to circumstances
• Relevant experience in corporate strategy, project management, and bridging gap between top-level management and on-the-ground execution.
• Experience at top consulting firm or equivalent in-hour strategy teams (3+ years)
• Strong business judgment, analytical thinking and technical skills
• Curiosity and learning agility to develop a strong understanding Cartier Japan’s business, culture and stakeholder landscape
• Full fluency in English and Japanese

Preferred

• Experience in luxury retail, and premium consumer goods market
