As our next Toolmaker Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of maintaining, repairing, manufacturing, and improving tooling, molds, fixtures, jigs, and equipment used in production processes. Your expertise in tooling maintenance, machining, mold repair, and dimensional control will be essential to ensuring equipment availability, product quality, operational efficiency, and manufacturing excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on plastic injection molds, dies, fixtures, and special tooling
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, adjust, assemble, and test tooling and equipment
• Identify root causes of tooling failures and implement corrective actions to extend tool life
• Machine parts and components using conventional equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses
• Interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and dimensional tolerances
• Perform fine adjustments to molds and fixtures to ensure dimensional and functional conformity
• Participate in try-outs and validations of new molds, tooling, and equipment
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and process optimization
• Record maintenance activities and interventions within maintenance systems and documentation controls
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Support engineering changes, new product launches, and process modifications
• Ensure proper care, storage, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and measuring instruments
• Maintain and adjust molds used for manufacturing impellers, shrouds, housings, and other plastic components
• Adjust fixtures used for electric motor assembly and automotive fan products
• Assist with dimensional validation of critical components
• Participate in defect analysis and troubleshooting of molded and assembled products
• Provide technical support to Production, Quality, and Process Engineering teams
What We’re Looking For:
• Technical diploma in Tool & Die, Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field
• Proven experience in industrial tooling environments
• Experience working with plastic injection molds and assembly fixtures
• Experience in automotive manufacturing is considered an asset
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Technical Knowledge Required:
• Reading and interpretation of mechanical technical drawings
• Metrology and dimensional control techniques
• Conventional machining processes
• Mechanical fitting and precision adjustments
• Knowledge of plastic injection molds and tooling systems
• Preventive and corrective maintenance practices
• Continuous improvement methodologies
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
Bonus Points If You Have:
• Experience repairing and modifying injection molds
• Welding experience for tooling recovery and repair
• Automotive manufacturing experience
• Experience supporting new product launches and engineering changes
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
