Description
The position is responsible for leading the procurement function to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services, efficient supplier management, and compliance with importation and regulatory requirements. It supports organizational goals by overseeing procurement operations, administrative processes, supplier relationships, and regulatory clearances while driving operational efficiency, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage procurement operations to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials, products, and services.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and operational requirements.
- Oversee supplier sourcing, evaluation, accreditation, and performance management.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and vendor terms to achieve cost efficiencies and service improvements.
- Manage importation processes, including SPS clearance applications, permit renewals, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely release and delivery of imported goods.
- Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Oversee procurement budgets, supplier expenditures, and resource utilization.
- Support the General Manager in achieving operational and organizational goals.
- Lead and develop procurement teams through performance management, coaching, and capability-building initiatives.
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration with department heads and key stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, food security requirements, and government standards.
- Participate in crisis management initiatives and support business continuity planning.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and operational efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- You must have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- You must have at least 5–8 years of managerial experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations management.
- You must have experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or similar industries.
- You must have knowledge of SPS permit processing, importation requirements, customs clearance procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- You must have familiarity with food safety regulations, food security standards, and government requirements.
- You must have strong leadership and people management capabilities.
- You must have experience developing policies, procedures, and process improvement initiatives.
- You must have strong planning, analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- You must have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- You must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
- You must be willing to travel and work onsite as required.
