Job Summary
East Penn is currently seeking skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Fabricators to support industrial manufacturing operations through the fabrication, installation, repair, and modification of sheet metal systems and components. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including ventilation systems, equipment guarding, custom fabrication, and facility improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Positions on 1st & 2nd shift available.
1st shift hours- 6a-2p
2nd shift hours- 2p-10p
Wages starting at $30.00-$38.00 per hour, depending on industry experience.
Plus a $5,000 Sign-On/Retention Bonus!
Job Tasks
- Fabricate, install, modify, and repair sheet metal components and assemblies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and specifications.
- Perform layout, measuring, cutting, forming, welding, and assembly operations.
- Operate sheet metal fabrication equipment including shears, brakes, rollers, plasma cutting equipment, and related machinery.
- Perform MIG and stick welding as required.
- Assist with field installations and modifications throughout manufacturing facilities.
- Work from ladders, lifts, rooftops, and elevated work areas when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
- Troubleshoot fabrication and installation issues and recommend practical solutions.
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial sheet metal fabrication, installation, or maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment.
- Experience with MIG and stick welding.
- Knowledge of sheet metal layout, forming, cutting, and assembly techniques.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Vocational-technical training, apprenticeship training, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
