What our Veterinary Technicians Do

As an experienced Veterinary Technician, you'll play an essential role in delivering exceptional patient care, particularly in our surgical and clinical workflows.

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgical procedures, and patient care
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and surgical areas for procedures
  • Induce, maintain, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia under veterinarian supervision
  • Monitor and accurately document anesthetic parameters and patient vital signs
  • Perform accurate drug calculations
  • Provide attentive perioperative nursing care and patient monitoring
  • Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant medical information
  • Perform the clinical responsibilities of an experienced exam room technician
  • Administer medications, treatments, and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding recommendations, treatments, medications, and patient care
  • Maintain clean, organized, stocked, and efficient treatment and surgical areas
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to keep the hospital running smoothly
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through to achieve positive outcomes

What You'll Bring

We're looking for an experienced veterinary professional who combines strong clinical and surgical skills with excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork.

  • At least one year of veterinary experience preferred
  • Veterinary Technician licensure or certification preferred
  • Previous surgical and anesthesia experience
  • Proficiency with anesthesia induction, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery
  • Confidence performing drug calculations
  • Proficiency with venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Strong exam room and patient-care skills
  • Excellent patient handling and restraint skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients, coworkers, and leadership
  • Strong client education and communication skills
  • Ability to explain veterinary recommendations in a clear, professional, and understandable way
  • A positive and supportive approach, even during busy or challenging days
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills
  • Confidence taking ownership of tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced veterinary environment
