Role Summary

This role supports 50 South Capital's alternative investment products through ownership and execution of investor onboarding, capital activity, platform operations, and operational transformation initiatives. The Senior Consultant serves as a key liaison between the business, platform vendors, administrators, and Northern Trust technology, data, and operations teams.

Designed for an experienced alternatives operations professional (typically 9+ years of experience), the role requires deep understanding of investor servicing, capital mechanics, and alternative investment workflows, combined with strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities.

The individual will partner closely with 50 South Capital leadership, Investor Relations, Business Development, Fund Operations, Legal & Compliance, Technology & Data teams, administrators, and platform providers to drive operational excellence, scale investor servicing capabilities, strengthen controls, and support strategic platform and operating model enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Investor & Capital Operations Leadership

  • Serve as a subject matter expert across investor onboarding, subscription, redemption, transfer, and capital activity workflows.
  • Own execution of iCapital, +SUBSCRIBE, and other alternative investment platform processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of investor transactions.
  • Coordinate fundraising closes, investor acceptance reviews, and capital activity readiness across stakeholders.
  • Oversee complex operational events, exception management activities, and remediation efforts while ensuring closure within established timelines.
  • Act as an escalation point for operational issues impacting investor onboarding and servicing activities.

Platform & Operational Governance

  • Lead day-to-day coordination between 50 South Capital, platform providers, fund administrators, distribution partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive platform governance discussions and identify opportunities to improve user experience, workflow efficiency, control effectiveness, and automation.
  • Support implementation of new products, platform enhancements, workflow redesigns, and technology initiatives.
  • Evaluate operating model gaps and recommend scalable solutions to improve efficiency, resiliency, and investor experience.
  • Participate in platform testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), production validation, and rollout activities.

Business Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process inefficiencies, control weaknesses, and operating model gaps across investor servicing and capital operations workflows.
  • Drive process standardization, automation opportunities, and workflow optimization initiatives.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives supporting platform integration, data enablement, and operational modernization.
  • Support migration activities and operating model transitions while maintaining control integrity and business continuity.

Risk, Controls & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure adherence to operational controls, documentation standards, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor operational risk indicators, service level adherence, and control execution across the investor servicing lifecycle.
  • Maintain appropriate evidence supporting control execution and operational decisions.
  • Support internal and external audit reviews, compliance testing, and platform governance reviews.
  • Drive timely resolution of control exceptions and operational incidents.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Build effective relationships with senior business stakeholders, Investor Relations teams, fund administrators, technology partners, and external vendors.
  • Represent operations in governance meetings, project discussions, and business change initiatives.
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to consultants and analysts supporting alternative investment operations.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, process documentation, and best practices across the team.
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and leadership in driving operational outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • For internal applications - 24 months as Consultant
  • 9+ years of experience in alternatives operations, investor servicing, fund administration, or capital activity management.
  • Strong understanding of private equity, hedge funds, private credit, real assets, and alternative investment operating models.
  • Extensive experience supporting investor onboarding, subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, capital calls, and distributions.
  • Experience working with alternative investment platforms such as iCapital, +SUBSCRIBE, Investran,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex operational, workflow, and data-related issues.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with VBA, Power BI, data visualization tools, or automation solutions is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of AML/KYC, tax documentation, investor records management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience participating in technology implementations, process redesigns, and operating model transformation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment.
