Description
The Controller oversees the accurate closing of the company financials and reports to the CFO in the reforecast process. This person will oversee the AP Manager, AR Manager (payment processing) and the Assistant Controller.
On-site in Austin, TX
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Job Duties:
Collaborate with the Assistant Controller to close the company financials and prepare the monthly financial package, which includes a balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows.
Lead and manage the AP Manager, AR Manager, and Assistant Controller.
Partner with the CFO to assist with the development of the budget and monthly reforecast.
Work with external financial audit and tax teams.
Establish internal and financial controls.
Work with the CFO on any ad hoc tasks and analyses.
Manage cash flow reporting.
Team up with accounting leadership to drive teamwork and positive culture in the accounting division.
Understanding of multi-state sales and use tax.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Understanding of US GAAP, revenue recognition, WIP, and general ledger concepts.
Experience leading month-end close through financial statement preparation.
Experience in multi-entity, multi-state environment.
8-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
At least 3+ years managing an accounting team.
Proven experience with process automation and/or operational improvements
Own 1099 compliance.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred:
Active CPA.
Experience with Sage Intacct.
Experience with Medius.
Experience with Salesforce.
Experience with Divvy / Bill.com.
Experience with Avalara.
