Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Vascular Technologist (RVT) to perform advanced, non-invasive vascular ultrasound procedures that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease. Examinations are performed in accordance with the standards and guidelines established by the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) and the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). This role serves patients across all age populations and supports the hospital's commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and service excellence.
What You Will Do
Perform Diagnostic Vascular Ultrasound Studies
- Conduct advanced non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations according to IAC standards and departmental protocols.
- Evaluate and document findings, compiling preliminary reports for physician review and final interpretation.
- Perform studies on patients across all age groups, from infancy through geriatrics.
Ensure Quality and Accreditation Compliance
- Participate in monthly peer review activities and support ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with preparation and documentation for the vascular laboratory's triennial IAC accreditation renewal.
- Attend a minimum of one vascular laboratory conference and one quality meeting annually.
Maintain Equipment and Department Standards
- Perform routine cleaning, care, and maintenance of vascular ultrasound equipment.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, and quality standards.
Support Clinical Coverage
- Participate in on-call responsibilities to support 24/7 patient care coverage.
- Assist with staffing needs across shifts and multiple locations as required by department operations.
Contribute to Education and Collaboration
- Assist in the training and education of physicians, fellows, students, new employees, and colleagues in vascular technology.
- Serve as a resource regarding vascular testing procedures and study interpretation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to support excellent patient outcomes.
Support Patient Safety and Service Excellence
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and organizational service excellence standards.
- Consistently exhibit professionalism, teamwork, respect, cooperation, and effective communication.
- Provide patient-centered care while addressing age-specific and population-specific needs.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Vascular Technology
- 1 to 2 years of vascular ultrasound experience in a hospital or clinical setting
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- RVT certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months of hire
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
Compensation:
Salary Range: $34.25 - $53.08 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
