How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
As a HSEQ Practitioner at Air Liquide Large Industries South Africa (ALLISA), you serve as the operational driver of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality across the entire business value chain, embedding a proactive, risk-based HSE Excellence Approach to cultivate a true zero-harm culture on the ground. Your role focuses on executing rigorous quality assurance, facilitating day-to-day safe operations, and ensuring full compliance with high-hazard safety standards and environmental regulations through hands-on risk management, continuous quality control, and active collaboration with site operations.- Develop and implement issue-based and shutdown-specific safety plans, ensuring all work activities align strictly with the HSEQ game plan and focus areas.
- Lead the identification of workplace hazards, key undesirable events, and quality risks.
- Facilitate comprehensive risk assessments, including Baseline (HIRA), Continuous, and Issue-Based assessments.
- Identify and investigate non-conformances and incidents.
- Lead root-cause analyses (RCA) to pinpoint personal, workplace, and organizational factors, implementing robust preventive and corrective controls.
- Conduct targeted risk-based assurance and compliance audits (e.g., lock-out/tag-out, logbooks, legal appointments, and critical group controls).
- Monitor incident, injury, and environmental/quality trends.
- Recommend, implement, and track targeted workplace HSEQ improvement interventions.
- Facilitate highly engaging safety discussions, toolbox talks, and safety stand-downs on the floor with frontline personnel.
- Build, sustain, and leverage positive relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure total alignment with the HSEQ execution plan and compliance requirements.

Educational requirements
- National Diploma in Safety Management, B-Tech or B-Degree in Safety management will be advantageous
- Relevant Trade Certification
Experience
- Two (2) to five (5) years of applied experience in an HSEQ or high-risk operational environment
Knowledge and Know-how specific to the job
A strong knowledge and understanding of the AIr Liquide Southern Africa Management System Policy, Strategic Objectives, HSE Process Modeling and Business processes
A strong knowledge and understanding of HSE Legislation and Regulations, Policies, Procedures, Standards and Processes
A strong knowledge of HSE Risk Assessment and Management, HSE Audits/Inspections, HSE Hazard Control and Incident Classification, Investigation and Reporting.
