Janitor and Maintenance Technician 

FoodChain ID is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Janitor / Maintenance Technician to help maintain a clean, safe, orderly, and professional environment at our Chantilly laboratory facility.

This is a hands-on position combining daily janitorial responsibilities with routine light facility maintenance. You’ll support our laboratory, offices, common areas, sample receiving areas, and exterior entry areas while helping identify and report facility issues that require additional attention.

What You’ll Do

• Clean and disinfect restrooms, break areas, offices, corridors, entryways, sample receiving areas, and other assigned spaces
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, clean glass, and remove trash and recycling
• Restock cleaning, restroom, and breakroom supplies
• Maintain cleaning schedules, checklists, and records
• Inspect facility areas and report leaks, damage, pest activity, safety concerns, and repair needs
• Perform routine light replacement and minor plumbing tasks within your training and authorization
• Complete minor repairs to doors, hardware, furniture, fixtures, and wall finishes
• Maintain cleaning equipment, basic tools, ladders, and supplies in safe working condition
• Coordinate approved service vendors and communicate repair status to management
• Follow laboratory safety requirements, product labels, Safety Data Sheets, and PPE requirements

What We’re Looking For

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. One to three years of commercial cleaning, custodial, building maintenance, or comparable experience is preferred. Experience working in a laboratory, healthcare, food, manufacturing, or another controlled environment is a plus.

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, punctual, attentive to detail, and comfortable working independently as well as with a team. Basic computer and mobile-device skills are also required.

The position involves regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching, as well as moving supplies, equipment, and materials generally up to 50 pounds and safely using authorized step stools and ladders.
