Reporting to the Supply & Chain Manager, the Operator III-Distribution is responsible for retrieving, stocking, and verifying materials in a high-bay warehouse to fulfill customer orders. Operator III will also be responsible for packing and shipping outbound materials. The role utilizes industrial material handling equipment and is responsible for executing material handling services throughout the facility. Additionally, this role is a resource for teaching and training others in their area of expertise as needed.
This position is part of the Distribution Department located in Ames, IA and will be on-site.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 3:15pm - 1:45am
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Pack and ship quality products according to standard work and regulations set by compliance department, ensuring quality products are safely delivered to customers.
Pack and ship hazardous and non-hazardous orders according to pick ticket instructions.
Prepare and deliver materials to designated locations using various equipment with a safety-first mindset.
Use of manual and/or powered equipment to pick and place products. This may include picking and placing materials manually or assisted in high bay locations.
Accurately perform computer transactions to ensure product availability for external customer orders.
Communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
Pick all customer orders to attain quality and On-Time Delivery (OTD) goals.
Place raw chemicals in designated locations in a timely manner according to storage regulations.
Maintain a high level of detail to ensure first in first out (FIFO) process of materials moving through the facility is followed.
Performs warehouse verification and consolidation, using a computer program and through visual checks.
Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
Keeps work area neat and orderly even when multiple priorities are present to ensure a safe work environment.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
The essential requirements of the job include:
HS or GED Diploma
2 or more years of related warehouse experience preferred
2 or more years of experience using powered warehouse equipment preferred
Environment
Warehouse Environment with various forms of chemical products.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $23.00 - $23.00 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
