This position is open to candidates who are willing to relocate to Alberta, and we encourage all interested individuals to apply.The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team is responsible for helping the organization identify, analyze, assess, respond, report, monitor and prioritize significant and emerging risks, including fraud risk, that may have an impact on AIMCo’s business strategies, objectives or significant opportunities. The ERM team works closely with all aspects of the business, from the Executive team to departments and their staff. As the ERM Student, you will leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to support the development and maintenance of fraud risk register to proactively and holistically assess and manage fraud risk at AIMCo. You will also gain insight into fraud risk management to support AIMCo’s risk mitigation efforts.
This is a 10-month full-time internship starting November 2, 2026, to August 21, 2027.

Responsibilities:
- Working with the ERM team to advance Fraud Risk Management roadmap deliverables, the role requires experience with AI platforms, prompt engineering, data analytics, and coding/automation, as well as strong problem-solving skills and a passion for applying technology to:
- Assist with the fraud risk assessment and the revision of the fraud risk register to document where fraud may impact the organization, including areas with high transaction volume, complex operations, sensitive data or financial exposure
- Assist with the review of process diagrams to evaluate and document fraud risk scenarios and controls
- Supporting the assessment and analysis of enterprise risk data, as needed
- Assisting in the continued support of ERM’s enterprise risk software
- Embracing accountability, enhanced decision making and integrity to enhance and develop the commitment to a Risk Culture
Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Recent graduate, or completion of second- or third-year undergraduate studies in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Business or a related degree.
- Experience using AI and generative AI tools, including prompt development and optimization
- Curiosity and a creative drive to apply Machine Learning to solve real problems
- Strong technical orientation and understanding of Large Language Models, including proficiency in basic to intermediate programming skills (Python, SQL, R or similar)
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills
- Well organized, demonstrated attention to detail and adept at solving problems
- Thrives under pressure and enjoys contributing to team goals
- Experience in Risk Management or Fraud Risk Management training/experience is considered an asset
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others
Success Measures:
At the end of the term, you will have gained practical knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management and Fraud Risk Management while building positive relationships across different departments at AIMCo.
