Position Summary

The Research on End-user Acceptability and Long-term Impacts of HIV Cure Strategies: REALISE is a multisite, patient-centered research project examining stakeholder perspectives and preferences regarding emerging HIV cure-related interventions and long-acting antiretroviral therapy. The study designed to characterize plausible future product profiles before such interventions become widely available, identify the attributes that matter most to PLH, quantify trade-offs between attributes and alternative treatment modalities, and translate preference estimates into downstream population-health and cost-effectiveness models.

The Research Coordinator II will manage day-to-day research activities for the REALISE study. The individual, working closely with the PI and Study Manager will coordinate investigator standing meetings, liaise with multi-site PIs, run participant recruitment and data collection, support qualitative and stated-preference research activities, manage study data and documentation, and monitor adherence to approved study procedures. The individual will also support qualitative data analysis, data quality assurance, study reporting, and coordination across investigators, study sites, participants, and community stakeholders.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists PI and study manager to implement all phases of the study protocol; maintains project activity trackers, provides routine progress updates to the Study Manager, identifies scheduling and operational issues, and completes other project-related activities assigned by the Study Manager or principal investigators.
  • Coordinates study implementation and multisite activities; maintains study work plans, recruitment and data-collection trackers, meeting schedules, action logs, and study documentation; coordinates activities with investigators, collaborating sites, research assistants, and other study personnel; monitors assigned milestones; and communicates operational issues to the Study Manager.
  • Coordinates study meetings and communications; schedules investigator and project-team meetings, prepares agendas and meeting materials, records meeting notes, distributes materials, and tracks decisions, action items, and follow-up activities.
  • Coordinates participant recruitment and research data collection; implements approved recruitment procedures; identifies, contacts, screens, schedules, and follows up with eligible participants and stakeholders; coordinates informed-consent procedures as delegated; and administers approved study instruments, including Best-Worst Scaling and Discrete Choice Experiment activities, following required training and study procedures.
  • Coordinates qualitative research activities and analysis; schedules and supports interviews, focus groups, expert consultations, and Community Advisory Board activities; prepares interview and discussion materials; organizes recordings, transcripts, field notes, and related files; codes qualitative data using the approved analytic approach; and assists with development of analytic memos, matrices, and summaries.
  • Manages research data and performs quality assurance; maintains accurate and organized study datasets and research files; conducts routine checks for completeness, consistency, and adherence to study procedures; tracks and resolves data queries in collaboration with appropriate study personnel; maintains version control and documentation; and supports secure handling of research information.
  • Coordinates Community Advisory Board activities; Organizes Community Advisory Board meetings, communicates with members, prepares agendas and materials, tracks attendance and action items, and supports or co-moderates discussions as assigned.
  • Supports protocol and regulatory compliance; maintains protocol-related study documentation; assists with preparation and tracking of Institutional Review Board submissions, amendments, continuing reviews, study materials, and required research documentation; monitors implementation of approved procedures; and reports protocol or data-quality concerns to the Study Manager and investigators.
  • Supports analysis, reporting, and dissemination; prepares recruitment, data-collection, and study-progress summaries; contributes to interpretation and presentation of qualitative and stated-preference findings; prepares tables, summaries, and materials for investigator meetings; and assists with abstracts, presentations, reports, manuscripts, and other research products as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$53,100.00 - $90,600.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
