Description

Our client is a growing, vertically integrated leader in animal nutrition, specializing in innovative organic trace mineral solutions that help livestock producers achieve better performance, efficiency, and value. The company develops research-backed mineral complexes using methionine to enhance absorption and utilization across key animal nutrition markets, including dairy, beef cattle, and poultry. With its own U.S. manufacturing facility and an integrated model spanning product development, manufacturing, transportation, application, and precision dosing equipment, our client has built a differentiated platform focused on science, innovation, sustainability, and customer results. As the company continues to expand its technology portfolio and market presence, this is an exciting opportunity to join an organization that is helping shape the future of animal nutrition!

We are seeking a Dairy Technical Service Manager to serve as a highly independent, field-based technical resource supporting dairy customers, sales teams, and strategic initiatives. The role is responsible for promoting and supporting the company’s complexed trace mineral portfolio and related nutritional technologies while helping drive sales growth. The ideal candidate is an outgoing, relationship-focused professional with strong technical and communication skills who can translate science into practical solutions and build trusted relationships across the dairy industry.

Location: This is a remote, field-based role (United States) with approximately 50–70% travel. Candidate must reside by a major airport.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support, training, and education to the dairy sales team to enhance product knowledge, customer engagement, and business growth.
  • Support the sales process by presenting scientific information to customers, nutritionists, veterinarians, consultants, and industry stakeholders while providing technical recommendations and troubleshooting support.
  • Lead and coordinate dairy research trials, commercial demonstrations, and product validation projects in collaboration with customers, universities, and research partners.
  • Develop technical summaries, educational materials, presentations, webinars, and scientific communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Maintain relationships with dairy producers, nutritionists, veterinarians, consultants, academic researchers, and industry influencers to support research collaborations and market development.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, research, and leadership teams to support product launches, commercialization efforts, and future technology development.
  • Represent the company at industry meetings, conferences, customer events, and technical programs to increase visibility and identify business opportunities.
  • Stay current on dairy industry trends, nutritional technologies, competitive products, and emerging research relevant to the dairy market.
  • Manage dairy research priorities and budgets to support technical objectives, product development, and business growth.

Qualifications:

  • Desired: Ph.D. or M.S. in Dairy Science, Dairy Nutrition, Animal Science, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in dairy nutrition, technical services, research, product development, or commercial dairy support.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of dairy nutrition, health, and management systems, with the ability to apply nutritional technologies in commercial dairy operations.
  • Experience designing, managing, and interpreting research trials and technical projects.
  • Understand the business, economic, and practical aspects of the dairy industry and how technical solutions support customer success and business growth.
  • Valid driver's license and passport (or ability to obtain one); willingness to travel extensively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with producers, nutritionists, veterinarians, consultants, and industry stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret scientific data and translate technical information into practical recommendations for customers and sales teams.
  • Initiative and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of the business and financial aspects of the dairy industry and the ability to identify customer needs, technical opportunities, and growth initiatives.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for dairy production, customer engagement, and science-based innovation.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Approximate Base Salary Range: $150,000–$180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Other benefits include a bonus opportunity, company vehicle, 401(k) retirement plan, medical insurance, paid time off (PTO), company-paid holidays, and life and disability insurance.
