Description
EA Talent Solutions has been engaged by a venture-backed, AI-driven financial technology company seeking a hands-on Fractional CPA / Accounting Advisor to bring its accounting operations into order and serve as the US accounting subject-matter expert for its AI financial planning product. This is a remote, part-time engagement (approximately 20 hours per week) with an initial 2–3 month term and strong consultant-to-permanent potential. This role requires an active, US-licensed CPA who has run (or currently runs) a CPA firm or operates as an independent accounting consultant, and who can take real ownership — building clean financial processes rather than simply maintaining them, while lending accounting expertise to how the product works “under the hood.”
Responsibilities
- Get the company’s books in order and establish clean, scalable accounting and financial processes
- Serve as the US-based accountant of record “in the loop,” ensuring compliance and sound accounting practices across the business
- Advise the product team on accounting logic, workflows, and requirements for the AI-driven financial planning platform, ensuring outputs are accurate, defensible, and US-compliant
- Provide higher-level accounting and financial consulting as the company scales
- Partner closely with a distributed team, including finance and operations staff located internationally
- Take ownership of financial deliverables and act as a go-to resource for accounting-related questions across the business
- Document processes, controls, and best practices to build durable internal knowledge
Qualifications
- Active US CPA license and US-based (required)
- Prior experience running or having run a CPA firm, or working as an independent CPA consultant/advisor (required)
- Sophisticated, senior-level accounting experience, with the ability to build financial processes from the ground up rather than only maintain them
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and responsibility for financial operations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving, early-stage environment
- Ability to work on a flexible, part-time basis (~20 hours per week)
Preferred Skills
- Genuine interest in AI and the future of finance; excited to apply deep accounting knowledge in an AI-driven product context
- Experience advising on or building accounting logic within financial software or fintech products
- Comfort partnering with distributed, international teams
- Experience in an early-stage, venture-backed, or high-growth company environment
