Job Summary
The Financial Aid Office Student Assistant provides administrative and customer service support to the Financial Aid Office. This position serves as an important first point of contact for students, families, and campus partners while assisting Financial Aid staff with daily operations, data retrieval, document processing, and special projects. The position provides an opportunity to gain professional office experience while developing communication, organizational, customer service, and technology skills.
Essential Responsibilities
• Answer incoming telephone calls and assist students and families with general questions, directing more complex inquiries to the appropriate Financial Aid staff member.
• Greet and assist students and visitors at the Financial Aid Office front desk in a professional and welcoming manner.
• Provide administrative support to Financial Aid Advisors and other office staff.
• Utilize the Banner student information system to retrieve and review student information as directed by Financial Aid staff.
• Receive, log, scan, and route scholarship checks and related documentation in accordance with office procedures.
• Assist with the organization, scanning, filing, and processing of Financial Aid documents.
• Complete special projects and administrative assignments to support the Financial Aid Office.
• Assist with data entry and other routine office tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Participate in Financial Aid Office outreach activities, including campus tabling events and other student engagement activities.
• Assist with preparing materials and organizing supplies for office events and programs.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with university policies and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the operations and service mission of the Financial Aid Office.

The position also provides opportunities to learn about the financial aid process and gain experience working with students and families.
Pay Grade: SP Student 2, starting at $14.10
