This position is off-campus and student employees must provide their own transportation to the site.
JOB TITLE: IT Assistant at Aeon
PAY RATE: $22/hour
REPORTS TO: IT Manager
Shifts: Fall 2026 through Spring 2027, in alignment with Work Study program dates and the student’s Work Study award and eligibility. Approximately 10–15 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility based on the student’s availability and Work Study award. Students may work up to 20 hours per week.
LOCATION(S): Aeon’s Central Office in the North Loop of Minneapolis, MN.

Position Summary The IT Assistant will provide hands-on support to Aeon’s IT team, gaining practical experience supporting computer hardware, software, networking systems, and technology projects across the organization. This is a great opportunity for a student interested in information technology to develop technical troubleshooting, project management, research, and customer service skills while contributing to the work of a mission-driven nonprofit organization. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: • Provide basic technical support and troubleshoot computer, software, hardware, and connectivity issues. • Assist with preparing, imaging, deploying, and decommissioning computers and other technology equipment. • Maintain accurate inventory records for computers, devices, and other IT equipment. • Assist with maintaining resident-access computers, including installing appropriate updates and performing routine maintenance. • Support the IT team with technology projects and system improvements. • Assist in developing and implementing processes for the responsible recycling and disposal of technology equipment. • Research technology products, services, vendors, and potential solutions as needed. • Assist with IT documentation and organization as needed. • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate Skills & Qualifications • Must have a Work Study award through the University of St. Thomas.• Interest in information technology, computer systems, networking, or a related field. • IT knowledge and experience troubleshooting computer or networking issues is preferred. • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. • Ability to provide helpful, professional support to users with varying levels of technical experience. • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through on assignments. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the IT team and other Aeon team members.
