ABOUT MERCY STREET
Mercy Street is a faith-based nonprofit committed to mentoring, developing, and empowering youth in West and South Dallas. Our programs focus on spiritual development, academic success, leadership, and life skills that equip students for meaningful lives rooted in purpose and service.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Mercy Street After-School & Summer Camp programs provide a safe, structured, and enriching environment for K–5 students during after-school and summer time hours. The programs offer academic support, social-emotional learning, faith-based mentorship, and recreational activities.
POSITION SUMMARY
The After-School and Summer Camp Coordinator manages the daily execution of out-of-school-time programming, coordinating staff, schedules, supplies, participant records, family communication, and program logistics.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate daily program schedules and activities.
- Support staff assignments, substitutes, attendance, and timekeeping.
- Maintain participant enrollment, attendance, emergency, and authorized-pickup records.
- Communicate program information to parents and caregivers.
- Prepare classrooms, materials, meals, transportation, and activity supplies.
- Help implement behavior-support and safety procedures.
- Conduct routine site and program-quality checks.
- Assist with volunteer orientation and supervision.
- Collect data for grants, reports, and program evaluation.
- Escalate safety, staffing, family, or participant concerns appropriately.
- Serve as program lead when the Director of After-School and Summer Camp is unavailable.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two to four years of experience working with children or youth.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Current CPR/first-aid certification or ability to obtain it.
- Ability to work during peak after-school and seasonal summer program hours.
- Alignment with the ministry’s Christian mission and statement of faith

- The After-School and Summer Camp Coordinator is first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel. This position furthers Mercy Street’s religious mission by:

- Being willing and able to explain the message of the Gospel to kids and families of Mercy Street.
- Ability and willingness to disciple kids and families of Mercy Street in a manner consistent with the Bible.
- Understanding of and agreement with Mercy Street’s Statement of Faith
- Being ready, willing, and able to contribute to distinctly Christian activities (including, but not limited to, worship or staff chapel) as an actively engaged Mercy Street staff member.
