Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our System SVP Finance Corporate Controller, you serve as a key resource and strategic business partner to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and members of executive management, at the local level, on matters related to finance, financial operations,   The position translates system objectives to individual operating units in collaboration with CommonSpirit executive management for the purpose of facilitating the operating units’ financial and strategic success and works with operating unit financial leadership and system functions to ensure the effective operation of the operating units’ financial affairs. Every day you will work to lead CommonSpirit Health’s Horizon 2020 Acceleration transformation efforts in collaboration with other executive management, Service Area Leaders, CFO’s and constituents.  You will craft a vision, gain alignment, and motivate others to achieve it, while working closely with CommonSpirit Health leadership and outside advisers to identify, evaluate, implement, and track Horizon 2020 Acceleration progress. Additionally, this leader identifies opportunities to enhance system revenue and reduce expenses.  Partners with other senior management on the communication and implementation plans for such opportunities. Serves as change leader and delivers business value with new efficiencies in processes and infrastructure, leveraging emerging technology as appropriate. To be successful, you must provide leadership and expertise developing and executing strategies that enhance the organization’s financial stability and growth, and provide insight and analysis to the ELT regarding the financial implications of strategic decisions. You will coordinate with system executives and functions to bring required resources to CommonSpirit Health operating units to maximize efficient, effective operations and support system initiatives and goals.  Additional Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Incumbents in this position shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including the CommonSpirit Health Standards of Conduct and CommonSpirit Health policies and procedures that apply to his/her job responsibilities, seek guidance when in doubt, promptly report any potential or suspected violation of CommonSpirit Standards of Conduct,  policy or procedure or applicable laws/regulations and when requested, assist CommomSpirit Health personnel in investigating all allegations of violation
  • When called upon, the incumbent shall assist in risk evaluation and work collaboratively with facility/entity leaders to implement, monitor, and mitigate risk corrective plans outlined by the Compliance program

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or a combination of education and additional job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible financial administrative experience in an acute healthcare institution with at least five (5) years in a senior leadership capacity
Preferred:
  • Master’s Degree in a related field and a CPA are strongly preferred
