Key Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Governance & Committee Mobilization
- Form, revitalize, and strengthen Village WASH Committees (VWCs) and Water User Committees in target rural communities across the project townships.
- Ensure Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles are embedded into committee structures, prioritizing the active participation of women, female-headed households, and persons with disabilities.
- Facilitate community consensus on water tariff collection models, financial oversight mechanisms, and long-term water safety rules.
Capacity Building, Training Facilitation & Hygiene Promotion
- Organize and facilitate capacity-building workshops for VWCs on Financial Management (FM), Climate-Resilient Water Safety Planning (CR-WSP), and basic O&M.
- Conduct Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS), WASH-Infection Prevention & Control (IPC), and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) trainings for community volunteers and local sanitation entrepreneurs.
- Lead hygiene promotion campaigns and school MHM interventions, overseeing the distribution of MHM kits, drinking water bottles, water filters, and hygiene supplies.
Smart Subsidy Management & Institutional Coordination
- Coordinate transparent beneficiary selection and distribution of smart subsidies to support vulnerable households in constructing climate-resilient sanitation facilities.
- Coordinate institutional WASH interventions in schools and learning centers with teachers, local education networks, and CSOs.
Digital Monitoring (mWater), Accountability & Reporting
- Conduct baseline surveys and field-level monitoring using mWater digital mapping and tracking tools.
- Sensitize target communities on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), Environmental & Social Safeguards (ESS), and Community Feedback Mechanisms (CFM).
- Compile monthly narrative progress updates, activity reports, field logs, and beneficiary success stories for the Project Manager.
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in humanitarian response or WASH-related field operations.
- Proven experience in Capacity Building, Facilitation, monitoring WASH infrastructure.
- Experience in providing technical support at field level.
- Strong understanding of emergency response contexts.
- Bachelor’s degree in social science, Development Studies, Public Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in WASH project implementation, community mobilization, training facilitation, and CLTS/hygiene promotion in NGO/INGO/humanitarian settings.
- Strong training facilitation and presentation skills, proficiency in mobile data collection tools (mWater / Kobo Collect), community engagement expertise, and a conflict-sensitive approach.
- Native fluency in Myanmar; working professional proficiency in English.
- Frequent field travel to project areas, including emergency response locations
