Department: Chapel and Religious Life
Supervisor: Preston Davis and Lakisha Elder
Starting Rate of Pay: $10.00
Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.

Job Description
As a Worship Leader, you will gain professional experience collaborating with a variety of other musicians and vocalists. Along with the ministers to the university and music director, your goal is to curate meaningful worship experiences for the congregation through your contributions.
Job Location/ Hours Required
The candidate will perform all duties assigned to the desired role. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours.
Vocal Worship Leaders / Responsibilities:
- Listen to & practice leading and/or singing background harmonies for upcoming services
- Attend weekly group rehearsals as scheduled by Music Director
- Attend required soundchecks one hour before each service
- Keep track of lyric sheets & vocal music
- Communicate to Music Director if your part needs to be transposed to a different key
Instrumental Worship Leaders / Responsibilities:
- Attend weekly rehearsals as scheduled by Music Director or Assistant Music Director, and practice outside of group rehearsals when necessary
- Attend required soundchecks one hour before each service
- Keep track of chord charts and sheet music
- Communicate to Music Director if your part need to be transposed to different keys or clefs
Vocal/ Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants must have:
- Strong singing abilities
- Musical independence
- A willingness to nurture and grow HPU Chapel community
- A desire to grow their musicianship and collaborative skills
Instrumental /Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants must have:
- Their own instrument, or means of purchasing, renting or borrowing instruments for rehearsals, soundchecks and services (with the exception of percussionists)
- Musical independence
- A willingness to nurture and grow HPU Chapel community
- A desire to grow their musicianship and collaborative skills
