Description
Accounting Operations Manager
The Manager, Accounting Operations is a new US-based role responsible for the operational accounting functions that support PCI's US parent and its Mexico and Peru subsidiaries. The position owns US multi-state sales and excise tax compliance, disbursement and payroll review across all three entities, and project accounting, and provides day-to-day direction to a distributed accounting team.
PCI's finance function is small relative to its scope and operates as a shared service, so this role carries genuine breadth. It suits someone who is comfortable owning processes end to end, working across three legal entities and three currencies, and partnering directly with project managers and department leaders outside of finance.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable and Disbursement Control
- Own the A/P function across US, Mexico and Peru entities in NetSuite OneWorld
- Review weekly A/P batches and employee expense reimbursements prior to VP approval, maintaining segregation between preparation, review, approval and payment release
- Maintain and improve A/P policies, approval workflows and supporting documentation
Payroll Review
- Review payroll across all entities prior to VP approval — US salaried and hourly, Mexico, and Peru
- Coordinate with third-party payroll providers in Mexico and the in-house Peru process
Indirect Tax Compliance
- Prepare and file monthly US sales and excise tax returns across PCI's multi-state nexus footprint
- Maintain the filing calendar, jurisdiction registrations and supporting documentation
- Monitor nexus developments and registration requirements as the customer footprint changes
Project Accounting and Business Partnering
- Own project accounting in NetSuite for billable and non-billable engagements
- Produce weekly financial status reporting for project managers, including deployment revenue and sales closings
- Support resource allocation analysis and act as the finance point of contact for the PM organization
- Partner with delivery leadership on project financial performance
Team Leadership and Close Support
- Provide day-to-day direction to the Philippines-based accounting team across A/P, project accounting and reporting
- Coordinate the monthly close calendar across entities and ensure deliverables are submitted on schedule
- Support the annual financial statement audit and 401(k) audit
- Document procedures and maintain backup coverage for critical recurring processes
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience coordinating the work of others
- Hands-on experience with A/P operations and disbursement controls in a multi-entity environment
- Working knowledge of US multi-state sales and use tax compliance
- Proficiency with a mid-market or enterprise ERP; strong Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a small finance team with broad individual ownership
- Effective written and verbal communication with non-finance stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA candidate
- NetSuite OneWorld experience, particularly A/P, project accounting or SuitePeople
- Multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation exposure (USD / MXN / PEN)
- Experience in software, SaaS or another recurring-revenue business
- Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition concepts
- Experience working with distributed or offshore team members across time zones
- Prior experience supporting an external audit
What Makes this Role Distinctive
This is a newly created position with unusual visibility for its level. This role reports directly to the VP of Finance & Accounting and works closely with the CFO, with regular exposure to project delivery leadership and the executive team. PCI is a stable, established business in a specialized market, and the finance function is small enough that this role's work is directly visible in the company's results.
The position offers a clear development path for someone who wants broader financial reporting, consolidation and FP&A responsibility over time.
