Mozaic (A Chapter of The Arc NY) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional III to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving their personal goals, building independence, and participating fully in their communities for Community and Day Habilitation programs.

Working under the direction of the Site Supervisor, you will provide person-centered services, job coaching, skill development, and advocacy while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the people you support. You will assist people in developing workplace and life skills, implementing goals outlined in their Life Plans, participating in community activities, and building meaningful relationships that promote independence and inclusion.

Direct Support Professional III Pay Rate: $18.83 - $20 per hour - based on experience

Location: 235 North Ave, Penn Yann

Direct Support Professional Hours:

Monday - Friday, hours typically between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm

Nights and weekends may be required based on program needs

Direct Support Professionals (DSP) Duties:

As a Direct Support Professional III, you will play an important role in delivering quality supports that empower people to reach their fullest potential. Responsibilities include implementing individualized support plans, maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance, administering medications when required, supporting community integration, and fostering a safe, positive, and supportive environment.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Successful candidates demonstrate initiative, accountability, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. You will build positive relationships with people receiving services, families, employers, community partners, and coworkers while maintaining confidentiality and advocating for the rights and well-being of others.

Direct Support Professional Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, leadership abilities, and crisis management skills are essential. Candidates should possess basic computer proficiency, maintain required certifications, and be able to operate office equipment, medical equipment, and agency vehicles, including wheelchair-accessible vans. A valid New York State driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required. This position may also require transporting people receiving services and maintaining a working telephone for agency communication.
