Job Description:
Medical Assistant
Location: Three Village- Setauket, NY
Hours/Days: 4/10 hour shifts, Mon,Tue,Wed,& Fri (RDO Thu) 7:30am-6:00pm
Organization: New York Health (NYH) - PCP
In this role, you will:
- Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording
- Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests
- Record patients' vital signs
- Prepare patients for examinations
- Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
- Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process
- Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures
- Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
- Other duties as assigned
We require:
- A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
- Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
- Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
