Job Summary

The Systems Integration Expert owns the system to system data flows that keep the B2B marketing and revenue technology stack connected. The role designs, builds and operates API based integrations and ETL pipelines across marketing automation, CRM, lead management, B2B data lifecycle and third party data platforms, working primarily in Databricks and through custom connectors built against or by vendor APIs

The role is the named technical owner of integration reliability, covering monitoring, error handling, reprocessing and reconciliation between source and target systems. It also carries the technical workstream of platform migration activity, including integration inventory, mapping, build and cutover testing.

Responsibilities

• Develops strategy for business performance analytics and optimization recommendations that enable continuous improvement and drive incremental demand generation or improve marketing productivity.

• Design, build and maintain API based integrations and ETL pipelines between the marketing automation platform, CRM, lead management platforms and third party data and demand vendors.

• Develop ingestion, transformation and orchestration pipelines in Databricks using Python and SQL, deployed through version control and CI/CD rather than manual configuration.

• Build custom connectors against third party vendor APIs where no managed connector exists, including authentication, pagination, rate limit handling, incremental extraction and idempotent writes.

• Own integration reliability end to end: monitoring, alerting, error handling, dead letter handling and reprocessing of failed records.

• Implement reconciliation between source and target systems so that record counts, rejections and acceptances are measurable rather than assumed.

• Deliver the technical workstream of marketing automation platform migration, covering integration inventory, source to target mapping, rebuild and cutover testing.

• Support technical due diligence during vendor evaluation, assessing API capability, connector coverage and integration effort.

• Resolve technical API and integration failures escalated from the operations support queue.

• Document integrations, data flows and operational runbooks to a standard that allows another engineer to operate them independently.

• Applies advanced subject matter knowledge, leads, and contributes to complex projects, and exercises independent judgment in resolving business issues and establishing policies.

• Develops and builds productive internal/external working relationships and provides mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.

Education & Experience Recommended

• 4 year or graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering or a related discipline, or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

• 3 or more years of hands on experience building production data integrations and ETL pipelines in an enterprise environment.

Preferred Certifications
Preferred Databricks Certified Data Engineer or equivalent.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Python and strong SQL, applied to production data pipelines rather than ad hoc analysis.

• Proven REST API integration experience, including OAuth and token based authentication, pagination, rate limit handling, retry and backoff logic, and idempotent write patterns.

• Hands on experience with a cloud data platform, ideally Databricks, including job orchestration, scheduling and dependency management.

• Experience building custom connectors where no prebuilt integration exists, and sound judgement on when to build versus configure.

• Working knowledge of a CRM data model and of how lead and contact data moves between marketing and sales systems.

• Version control and CI/CD as normal working practice.

• Understanding of data quality, deduplication and identity resolution concepts.
