Team Overview
The Membership and Credentialing team is responsible for ensuring that applicants and end users meet applicable business, regulatory, and TransUnion credentialing requirements before gaining access to TransUnion products and services. The team conducts due diligence, verifies permissible purpose and business legitimacy, and partners with Sales and business units to support compliant onboarding and a positive customer experience. This role reports to Consumer Operations Support Lead. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.Role Overview and Core Responsibilities
- Manage complex credentialing and recredentialing cases, including applicants located in the United States and international markets.
- Authenticate end users and confirm their permissible purpose and authorized use of TransUnion products and services in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Evaluate the intended use of requested products and services, including complex packages and requests involving geographic areas outside the United States.
- Conduct due diligence examinations and investigations using approved third-party tools, online resources, and other appropriate research methods.
- Assess applicant business legitimacy based on federal, state, city, municipal, and applicable international regulatory requirements.
- Respond to escalated client inquiries through both verbal and written communication in a timely and professional manner.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on credentialing matters and provide guidance, updates, and direction to team members and business partners.
- Mentor, coach, and support team members by sharing process knowledge, prior experience, and credentialing best practices.
- Identify recurring process or communication concerns and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, training, and customer satisfaction.
- Partner with Sales, business units, potential customers, and other impacted groups to resolve issues and support effective credentialing decisions.
Required Knowledge and Experiences
- At least 3 years of experience working directly with clients, handling escalations, and managing credentialing or recredentialing requirements.
- Experience conducting due diligence examinations or investigations involving complex business cases and applicants from multiple geographic regions.
- Knowledge of federal, state, city, municipal, and international regulatory requirements used to verify and authenticate applicant businesses.
- Experience assessing permissible purpose, authorized use, business legitimacy, and compliance with established credentialing policies.
- Ability to apply credentialing policies consistently and recommend policy or process amendments based on practical experience and identified business needs.
Required Technical Skills
- Experience using third-party investigative, business-verification, or due diligence tools to research applicants and validate business information.
- Strong online research skills, including the ability to identify reliable sources that can supplement approved third-party resources.
- Ability to review and interpret business documentation, regulatory records, transactional information, and credentialing requirements.
- Ability to document findings clearly, maintain accurate records, and make informed recommendations on complex credentialing cases.

Pay Scale Information:
The pay range for this position is $23.44 - $39.06 per hour. *The pay range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion’s annual bonus plan.
