As a Mammographer Tech III at MercyOne, you will:
- Perform mammography procedures on scheduled shifts, operates mammography equipment
- Provide care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Provide patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems
- Maintain open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other departments
- Instruct, supervise, and evaluate student technologists
Schedule:
- Per Diem (PRN)
- Weekends
- 4 hour shifts
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (R).
- Registered Mammography Technologist (M).
- Maintains active registry status in ARRT.
- Maintains current Iowa Permit to Practice.
- 2 years MercyOne experience or 3 or more mammography experience.
- 15 Mammo CEUs for 3 rolling calendar years.
- 1 CEU per year in Radiation Safety/24 CEU’s every 2 years.
- No formal disciplinary actions in file (written notice or higher).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire.
Must participate in one of the following per year:
MercyOne sanctioned community event
Presentation to professional group
Advanced Cardiac Life Support qualification
Clinical Preceptor/Mentor:
Responsible for training of new staff and students.
Responsible for training staff on new techniques and/or equipment.
Responsible for signing off on employee competencies.
Maintains a positive attitude at all times.
Displays Mercy Values, including honesty and trustworthiness.
Demonstrates consistently a team-player attitude.
Participates in department QA if necessary.
Responsible for training outside technologists for “40-hour mammography training program”.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
