JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The IT Business Analyst II acts as the primary IT contact for all POET companies and plays a vital role in the planning and execution of information management system initiatives related to this area of the company’s operations. This person is responsible for evaluating existing processes in both the business and IT space, determining how they relate to a common delivery practice.
This is an on-site role located in Sioux Falls, SD. Responsibilities include:
Research, design, test and document processes and systems for the enhancement, development and maintenance of business and systems operations.
Identify the sources of requirements and understand stakeholder roles.
Prepare business ROI and manage projects to meet the stated ROI.
Assist in supporting of applications after implementation by providing daily support, training, designing reports and other support tasks.
Help to define acceptance criteria for completion of the solution.
Organize and lead small groups to resolve current systems conversion business problems.
Work with business customers to understand requirements and develop specifications for projects.
Create basic to moderately complex test plans using templates and guidelines.
Develop an understanding of how present and future business needs will impact the solution.
Lead small to medium sized projects.
Identify and document all business, technical, product and process needs/requirements.
Identify key business process owners to assist in application implementation.
Control scope and client expectations; may provide guidance to less experienced analysts.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, or Science
Minimum of 3 years of progressive analysis/systems experience in mid to large scale computing environment
Experience with Great Plains Dynamics, payroll and financial processing is a plus
A strong understanding of client/server, web architectures and object-oriented technologies and internet applications
Working knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies and Windows operating systems
Understanding of relational database concepts and experience with SQL queries
Strong project management skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new programs

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Some travel, to include overnights, may be required for this position.
This position operates in an office environment, working at a personal computer where you may sit or stand. Most of our Sioux Falls office workspace consists of an open-concept design intended to promote open communication and collaboration.
