Job Description

  • Deliver high-quality analytical work on topics related to peatland restoration, forest and wetland carbon management, and nature-based solutions
  • Support the design and evaluation of climate mitigation projects, including GHG baselines and the quantification of emission reductions from rewetting and land management measures
  • Prepare technical inputs for carbon certification schemes and impact methodologies (e.g., Gold Standard, Verra), aligned with client and standard requirements
  • Contribute to technical reports and publications for different clients (e.g., World Bank, GIZ, carbon standards, Global NGOs) meeting their operational needs and requirements
  • Carry out field-based monitoring assessments (e.g., closed-chamber emission measurements, hydrological and water quality surveys) and apply standard sampling protocols
  • Develop high-class presentations
  • Support the acquisition of new projects, including research and proposal writing
  • Contribute to the management of small projects and medium-sized projects


Requirements

  • 5–7 years of professional experience (research and/or consulting) in an international context
  • MSc in forest sciences, ecology, international forestry, environmental sciences or a related field; PhD or doctoral research experience is an asset
  • Experience with greenhouse gas-related monitoring and measurement methods and with spatial variability analysis of flux data
  • Familiarity with carbon markets and environmental certification frameworks (e.g., experience with impact methodology development for Gold Standard is a plus)
  • Experience with Excel and quantitative data analysis
  • Solid project management skills and financial literacy
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams with scientists, landowners and public authorities
  • Willingness to travel internationally and to conduct fieldwork under remote field conditions
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Innovativeness and "drive" to explore and develop new business in emerging topics, such as peatland and forest carbon markets
  • Proficiency in English and German are an asset; good knowledge of other languages is a plus
