What is the opportunity?
The Assistant Manager, AML Compliance contributes to the Caribbean Banking Compliance Unit’s priorities by supporting the implementation and maintenance of the approved AML Compliance program in a manner that would provide reasonable assurance to senior management that the business complies with governing in-region AML regulations and with internal AML policies and procedures.
You will also be expected to support the maintenance of procedures to assess, monitor and report on the Unit’s compliance with Caribbean Banking AML Compliance program and in region AML regulatory requirements, reporting to the Manager, AML Compliance and Compliance Officer (RBC Royal Bank (Trinidad & Tobago) Limited.
What will you do?
- Support the completion and filing of AML/CFT reports to the Designated/Regulatory Authority as required
- Support the timely submission of information to money laundering authorities as formally and legally requested (court orders, production requests and production orders, etc.)
- Support various AML Compliance initiatives and projects, offering insights as they relate to the regulatory environment
- Provide support in the drafting and at least annual maintenance and version tracking of compliance policies
- Support the conduct of annual risk assessments, identify gaps/risks and ensure gaps/risks are addressed/mitigated
- Foster and emphasize the need for sound governance practices and a culture of compliance.
- Liaise with business and functional groups to provide guidance, expertise and oversight related to compliance (including AML/ATF) issues
- Support the provision of AML training based on needs assessments, audit findings and any identified gaps.
- Assist in integrating AML compliance requirements into business processes
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree
- Knowledge of Anti Money Laundering and financial services regulations in the TT jurisdiction
- Experience in the financial services industry preferably in a Compliance or Legal Department
- Knowledge of Branch Operations and Caribbean Banking business units
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Core Banking Systems (T24/RIBS)
Nice to Have
- An internationally recognized AML Certification such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent
