Responsibilities
- Perform CT examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and safety standards.
- Obtain and document relevant patient history; prepare patients for procedures and administer oral and IV contrast.
- Monitor patients during exams, recognize changes in condition, and respond appropriately to emergencies, including CPR/first aid.
- Verify patient identification and physician orders to ensure exam accuracy and compliance.
- Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self in accordance with established guidelines.
- Position and transfer patients safely to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and the CT table.
- Assist radiologists with CT‑guided interventional procedures, including biopsies.
- Review relevant laboratory results in EPIC to support exam completion.
- Perform routine equipment checks, report malfunctions, and coordinate service needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment, including equipment disinfection and supply management.
- Manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast‑paced setting with frequent interruptions.
- Support orientation of new staff and students and communicate effectively using hospital systems.
Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
- Licensed PET/CT Technologist by the Maryland Board of Physicians required; OR licensed PET Technologist by the Maryland Board of Physicians with Diagnostic CT certification required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of PET/CT Technologist experience required.
- Experience performing PET/CT scans on Siemens Biograph Vision systems preferred.
- Experience with Siemens imaging equipment preferred.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system preferred.
