Description
Vitacore is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance to lead the Company’s financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and financial operations.
- Lead the Company’s budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and financial analysis processes.
- Develop short- and long-term financial forecasts based on historical performance, current operations, expected growth, and strategic initiatives.
- Maintain and develop cash flow forecasts and working capital planning.
- Prepare financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Provide leadership with clear recommendations based on financial data and business performance.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packages.
- Prepare financial information, analysis, presentations, and supporting materials for the Board of Directors.
- Clearly communicate financial results, risks, trends, variances, and opportunities to non-financial stakeholders.
- Develop and monitor budgets by business unit, department, product, or project as appropriate.
- Analyze actual performance against budgets and forecasts and identify key drivers of variance.
- Develop financial KPIs and reporting tools to improve visibility into company performance.
- Support pricing, margin analysis, capital investment decisions, new business initiatives, and commercial opportunities.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
- Manage and mentor the Accountant and provide oversight of the accounting function.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the Company’s financial records.
- Lead or support year-end financial statement preparation and external audit or review processes.
- Develop and strengthen financial controls, policies, procedures, and reporting processes as the Company grows.
- Work collaboratively across departments to improve financial accountability and planning.
- Support financing, banking, tax, insurance, grant, and other financial matters as required.
- Take on additional strategic financial projects as the needs of the business evolve.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Significant progressive experience in accounting, finance, financial planning and analysis, or a similar discipline.
- Strong financial modelling, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial information into concise, decision-useful reporting.
- Experience preparing information for executive teams, Boards of Directors, investors, lenders, or similar stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow, working capital, profitability, and business performance.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Experience leading or managing accounting staff.
- Ability to operate at both a strategic and detailed level.
- Strong business judgement and commercial awareness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with changing priorities and developing processes.
- Highly proactive, practical, resourceful, and comfortable building systems rather than relying on established corporate infrastructure.
- $120,000 to $140,000 annual salary.
