Responsibilities
As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and satisfaction of our
customers by providing expert service and support for FT-IR, FT-NIR, and Raman systems, as well as related
accessories. Your responsibilities will include:
· Installation and Configuration: You will be responsible for the installation of FT-IR/FT-NIR/Raman systems and accessories at customer facilities, ensuring they function in accordance with specifications.
· Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct on-site repairs and routine maintenance of our products at customer locations, guaranteeing uninterrupted operation.
· Customer Training: Familiarize and train customers on the operation and maintenance of our equipment to empower them to maximize their utilization.
· Acceptance and Sign-off: Work closely with customers to secure their acceptance of installations and obtain sign-offs for repair and maintenance work performed.
· Customer Communication: Serve as a vital communication link between customers and the company, ensuring exceptional customer service satisfaction.
· Scheduled Servicing: Perform periodic servicing of our products at customer locations, adhering to service contracts.
· Proactive Support: Maintain regular contact with customers through phone and other communication channels to assess their need for additional services and promptly address any queries or concerns.
· Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all field visits, products sold, and services rendered, maintaining proper documentation.
· Software Integration: Assist in networking analysis instruments with optional software solutions and integrating them into existing laboratory information systems.
· Travel Requirements: Be prepared to travel extensively, exceeding 70% of your time, to provide support to customers in TaiwanF and Southeast Asian countries.
· Documentation: Prepare comprehensive service reports, quotations, and utilization reports to keep detailed records of service activities.
Qualifications
· Educational Background: Possess a tertiary level qualification in electrical or electronic engineering, physics, or a related discipline, or demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and skill gained through practical experience.
· Experience: Have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing analytical instruments, scientific instruments, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
· Technical Proficiency: Exhibit strong technical skills related to analytical instrumentation, with a focus on FT-IR spectroscopy, NIR-Raman technology, Remote Sensing, Microscopy, and laboratory organization being advantageous.
· Customer Focus: Display excellent customer focus, with the ability to promptly respond to inquiries, effectively communicate, and interact with customers in a professional manner.
· Communication Skills: Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in MS Office, technical data interpretation, and networking communication. Be capable of conveying complex technical issues in an easily understandable manner.
· Good written and oral English language skills
· Organizational Skills: Demonstrate outstanding organizational abilities, including the capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, follow through on commitments, and meet deadlines. Thrive in an entrepreneurial and customer-focused work environment.
