Job Description:

Amherst College invites applications for the Data Management Assistant position. The Data Management Assistant is a part-time (up to 19 hours per week), casual position with no benefits. The expected salary range for this job opportunity is: $18 - $25 per hour.

The salary offered will vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to relevant education, training, and experience, tenure status, and other nondiscriminatory business considerations.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual for a Data Management Assistant in Dining Services.

This role supports dining operations by managing data entry, auditing system information, and building performance dashboards. You will drive process optimization by streamlining data workflows and aiding the integration of AI technologies. Additionally, you will support ongoing administrative projects and assist with nutrition data analysis to ensure compliance and improve service efficiency.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Data Management

● Support administrative tasks such as sorting, auditing and entering new item names in current systems

● Collaborate in creating and implementing systems and processes to streamline data entry.

System Development & AI Implementation

● Develop and maintain dashboards to track and measure key metrics related to dining data.

● Aid in the implementation of AI technologies within the dining hall operations.

Additional Responsibilities

● Contribute to ongoing administrative and process improvement projects related to the dining system.

● Provide support in data organization and system optimization to improve overall dining services.

● If time permits, assist with nutrition data analysis and entry to ensure the accuracy and compliance of dining offerings.

Qualifications:

Required

• The ability to calculate and manipulate food measurement math between Imperial and Metric Systems (e.g., cups, ounces, pounds, grams, liters, etc.) and between mass and volume.
• Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft systems.
• An acceptable criminal offender records information (CORI) check.
• Successful completion of required reference and background checks.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic experience with data entry and menu management software (preferred).
• Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and assist in tech-driven initiatives.
• Interest in food service operations and technology integration.
