Material Planner - GFAL

TITLE: Material Planner 

LOCATION: Onsite in Alsip, IL 
 

COMP RANGE:  $59,000 - $87,000 annually 

Griffith Foods is hiring a Material Planner to manage inventory levels and ensure the timely, in-full delivery of raw materials that support production schedules, service goals, and working capital objectives.

As a Material Planner, your responsibilities will include: 

• Drive raw material availability by analyzing MRP requirements, managing purchase orders, and optimizing inventory levels to support production and customer demand. 

• Partner with Scheduling, Production, Quality, and suppliers to align material supply with production plans and quickly respond to changing business needs. 

• Identify, expedite, and resolve material shortages and supply issues to minimize production disruptions and maintain service levels. 

• Optimize inventory performance by monitoring planning parameters, managing at-risk and slow-moving inventory, and recommending corrective actions. 

• Lead reporting and coordination efforts related to purchase order management, inventory health, raw material shortages, formula revisions, and ingredient changes. 

• Develop supply plans and monitor supplier performance to ensure reliable material availability. 

• Resolve supplier service issues, drive corrective actions, and support vendor performance reviews. 

• Analyze supplier metrics and order history to identify improvement opportunities.

Qualified candidates will have: 

• Bachelor’s Degree, Supply Chain or Engineering 

• 3+ years ERP and MRP experience in a manufacturing environment 

• 3+ years experience in a Supply Chain environment 

• Willingness to work onsite in ALSIP, IL 5 days per week 

• Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

• APICS/ASCM CPIM certification 

• Food/beverage or fast-moving consumer goods 

• Silo / bulk material planning  

This role is affiliated to the ALSIP, IL location, and candidates for this role need to reside within a commutable distance of that location and will be required to come into that location.  You may be asked to travel to other locations periodically for meetings.
