Schedule: Every other Friday and Saturday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is seeking a dependable Part-Time Receptionist to provide overnight front desk and administrative support at the BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center in Hampton, VA.
Our center provides urgent behavioral health services to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. Services include crisis intervention, therapy, medication management, suicide prevention, and other behavioral health support in a calm, therapeutic environment focused on stabilization and recovery.
Required Qualifications
- One year of experience in a receptionist, customer service, or administrative support role.
- Experience must be within a work environment that demands sensitivity and professionalism, such as healthcare or social services.
What You'll Do
As an Overnight Receptionist, you will be an important first point of contact for clients, visitors, and callers. Responsibilities include:
- Answer, screen, and route incoming calls using a multiline telephone system.
- Greet and check in clients and visitors and direct or escort them to the appropriate location.
- Provide accurate information regarding programs, services, and locations.
- Record and distribute telephone messages.
- Maintain reception logs, extension lists, records, and conference room calendars.
- Prepare routine correspondence and documents and assist with registration, typing, and filing.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and deliveries.
- Complete requisitions for bill payments and assist with ordering office and program supplies.
- Maintain a professional front desk and reception area.
- Respond to questions, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and discretion.
Your Overnight Shift
This position works every other Friday and Saturday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. During quieter periods, you will complete administrative support duties, maintain records, update schedules and lists, and help prepare the program for the next shift.
We are looking for someone who can remain professional, organized, attentive, and composed while working independently during overnight hours.
