What You Will Do
Ascension Saint Thomas Medical Partners is adding a PRN surgical physician assistant to our team in Murfreesboro, TN.
- Working 8-9 hour Saturday and Sunday (on occasion helping fill in for vacations during the week)
- Working with General Surgeon on call with hospital patients
- Manages assigned patients;performs new consults; Assessments during rounding
- Prepare and execute discharge orders and notes
- Collaboration with other services and frequent interaction with hospitalist

- 407 beds, this regional referral center features a modern facility built in 2010 and a newly-renovated 16 operating room suite
- The hospital is centrally located in the fastest growing county in the state of Tennessee on a beautiful 68-acre campus on the bustling “Medical Center Parkway” corridor with convenient access to dining and shopping areas
- The hospital campus is currently undergoing a $110M expansion project, which includes the addition of 36 new high acuity beds, a parking garage dedicated to hospital employees and physicians, 18 new critical care unit beds, six additional NICU bassinets, 17 new post-surgery bays
- The hospital is well known in the community for its women’s services and well-established heart surgery program
- Saint Thomas Health and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) have an established partnership in Middle Tennessee for training medical residents in a variety of specialties including internal medicine, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and general surgery

What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Physician Assistant credentialed from the Tennessee Committee on Physicians Assistants obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.
Work Experience:
- 1 year of experience preferred.
