Dairy Member Services Intern

Pay: $23/hr 

Position Duration: May 2027 - July 2027 

Position Location: Arden Hills, MN 

 

Team 

The Dairy Member Services team is responsible for providing value-added products and services to our Dairy Members as part of their cooperative membership with Land O'Lakes. 

 

Internship 

As the Dairy Member Services Intern, you will gain a broad understanding of the Dairy Member Relations team and how we support our Member-Owners, including the Farmers Assuring Responsible Management (FARM) program standards related to sustainability, animal care, and workforce development. 

You will meet with leaders, key team members, and industry groups that directly impact our members. You will participate in member-facing activities, see how technology enables business advancement, learn about program development, and get to know the people who feed the world. 

 

The internship will include projects in the following areas: 

  • Farm Safety and Animal Care Events: Assist with grant proposal writing and the planning of an in-person or virtual event(s) related to new farm safety programs for dairy members. Event content will be developed in collaboration with industry partners, with the potential to co-lead an event. 

  • Data Management: Maintain clean, reliable program data through review, validation, and quality control processes. 

  • Sustainability Project Management: Support process improvement initiatives, maintain compliance and accuracy within digital filing systems, review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), and contribute to the Dairy Member Sustainability Program(s). 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Communications and Marketing, Agribusiness, Agricultural Education, or a related field 

  • Basic understanding of cattle production systems (dairy preferred; beef experience acceptable) 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate on cross-functional teams 

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 

  • Effective presentation and facilitation skills 

  • Ability to work with agility and adapt to changing priorities 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Sophomore or junior standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0 

  • Interest in farm safety and event planning 

  • Strong written communication skills; grant writing experience preferred 

  • Experience planning, hosting, and executing public events
