About the role
MSS Security is seeking an experienced Control Room Supervisor to join the Security Operations Centre at Monash University, working within a technically advanced security environment.
This is a key supervisory position responsible for overseeing control room operations, supporting a security team of approximately 130 officers and ensuring effective responses across multiple Monash sites.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to control room personnel, coordinate responses to incidents and emergencies, and ensure security procedures, systems and reporting standards are consistently maintained.
We are seeking a confident security professional with strong control room experience, excellent communication skills and a sound understanding of CCTV, access control systems and incident investigation and reporting.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day Control Room operations across multiple Monash sites.
Provide leadership, guidance and support to Control Room Officers and the wider security team.
Monitor CCTV, access control, alarms and other security systems to identify and respond to potential risks.
Take ownership of security incidents, coordinating appropriate responses and escalating matters where required.
Coordinate with security officers, emergency services and key stakeholders during incidents and emergencies.
Ensure Control Room procedures, incident response protocols and escalation processes are followed.
Review and oversee incident reports, ensuring investigations and documentation are accurate, detailed and completed to a high standard.
Conduct regular checks and testing of security systems to ensure operational readiness.
Maintain clear communication across the Control Room and wider security team.
Support the ongoing improvement of Control Room processes, procedures and security operations.
Assist with coaching, training and performance support of Control Room personnel.
Ideal candidates will have:
Proven experience in a security control room supervisory or senior control room role.
Previous experience as a security officer with strong operational knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate and support a security team.
Strong incident management, investigation and report-writing skills.
Experience working with CCTV and access control systems.
Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Excellent communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Milestone CCTV, Inner Range/Integriti Security System and Resolver reporting systems would be highly regarded.
The ability to remain calm, professional and decisive in high-pressure situations.
Requirements:
Full Australian working rights.
Valid Victorian Security License with the control room subcategory.
Working with children check (or willing to obtain).
Valid First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain).
Victorian Drivers License.
Availability to work a rotating 24/7 roster
