A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. @ Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health

As a Research Assistant on our team, you will help facilitate this vision by assisting with the implementation and conduct of human subject research projects. You will perform data entry and lab processing, schedule research activities, interact with participants, and float between teams to gain full exposure to research operations. This role assists in helping patients receive access to specialized and innovative care.

 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Assist the research team with research study related tasks. 

• Assist with completion of protocol related activities. 

• Obtain and maintain clinical competencies for unlicensed caregivers such as phlebotomy, vital signs, ECG, POC testing and other testing as required. 

• Assist with the development and coordination of the research subject schedule in compliance with the research protocol. 

• Assis with the collection, recording and maintenance of research study records. 

• Assist in the development and maintenance of research tools, such as spreadsheets, questionnaires, and/or brochures.  

• Maintain study personnel certification records (license, CV, CITI, etc.). 
• Establish and maintain filing systems. 
• Order and stock supplies.
• Maintain professional relationships, including frequent and open effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• High School Diploma/GED
• Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of computer-based skills, especially in the use of work processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software
• Ability to undertake internet searches
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Continually demonstrates competency with defined requirements for the position as established by Cleveland Clinic

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Bachelor’s Degree 
• One year experience in a healthcare setting
• (Degree may substitute the experience requirement)
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
• In some locations, ability to move up to 25 pounds

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
