The Senior Business Systems Analyst - Data Engineer is a senior hybrid role focused on business systems analysis, process improvement, and data-enabled delivery in support of military sustainment digital services.

This role partners with government, program, supplier, operations, product, and technical teams to understand mission needs, analyze sustainment workflows, document requirements, and translate them into advanced analytics implementable solutions that improve readiness, visibility, and operational performance. This position is ideal for someone who can lead discovery, align stakeholders, define business and system requirements, and support digital solutions that enable sustainment operations, reporting, and decision-making.

Position Responsibilities:

 

Business Systems Analysis

 

• Lead stakeholder engagements to understand mission objectives, operational challenges, current-state workflows, and future-state needs.
• Document business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
• Analyze sustainment, logistics, maintenance, supply, and readiness processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Translate mission and operational needs into clear system, reporting, and data requirements for technical teams.
• Support prioritization, scope definition, and impact analysis for system enhancements, integrations, and process changes.

 

Process & Solution Design

 

• Partner with product, operations, architecture, data science, and engineering teams to define solution options and recommend approaches.
• Map current-state and future-state processes, handoffs, and system interactions across sustainment workflows.
• Identify business rules, decision points, exceptions, and downstream impacts to ensure solutions support mission operations and reporting needs.
• Support the design of integrations, workflow automation, and operational reporting capabilities.

 

Data & Technical Support

 

• Collaborate with data engineers and developers to support data mapping, ETL/ELT design, validation, and reporting requirements.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to support analysis, troubleshooting, and data validation.
• Support dashboards and reports by defining business logic, metrics, and data definitions.
• Assist with integration of enterprise and mission-support systems as needed.

 

Testing, Documentation & Delivery

 

• Define and support UAT scenarios, test cases, and business validation criteria.
• Validate delivered solutions against mission and operational requirements.
• Maintain documentation including requirements, process maps, data dictionaries, traceability matrices, SOPs, and runbooks.
• Support stakeholder communication, change management, training, and adoption of new capabilities.

 

Governance & Collaboration

 

• Partner with government, program, supplier, compliance, and operations stakeholders to support data standards, controls, and process consistency.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and issues early and communicate them clearly.
• Lead or support cross-functional workstreams and serve as a liaison between mission users and technical teams.
• Mentor junior team members analysts and support consistent business analysis and documentation practices.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

 

 

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
• Strong experience in business systems analysis, requirements gathering, and process documentation. Experience mapping current-state and future-state workflows.
• Ability to translate mission or operational needs into functional and technical requirements.
• Experience supporting UAT, issue triage, and implementation readiness.
• Strong stakeholder management skills in cross-functional environments.
• Advanced SQL skills for analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Qlik.
• Working knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling, and data quality practices.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, Splunk, AWS, Databricks, Azure Synapse, etc.
• Familiarity with APIs, middleware, and enterprise system integrations.
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, Git, and Agile delivery methods.
• Must consent to the Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment.
• Must not pose a risk to the safeguarding of controlled goods.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Must be eligible for Secret Level II security clearance.
• Must be eligible to handle U.S. export-controlled data.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

• Experience supporting military, defense, sustainment, logistics, maintenance, or readiness-focused programs.
• Experience in government or contractor environments supporting digital transformation.
• Experience in a senior or lead business systems analyst role.
• Experience mentoring analysts or helping establish business analysis standards and practices.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across mission, business, and technical audiences.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving ability.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver independently.
• Strong ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to influence without authority.

Additional Information:

 

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.

 

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only.  Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

 

Salary pay range - $94,000.00 – $168,000.00 CAD 

 

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance Level II from the Canadian government. Requirements to obtain a secret security clearance can be found at:
