Are you driven by supporting large scale internal controls initiatives for a compliance function? This is a great opportunity to be a key team member of the Walmart Global Internal Controls team in the facilitation of transformation projects working with process owners and auditors to design and maintain an effective and efficient internal control over financial reporting environment. 

A successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership and collaboration skills while leveraging detailed financial and operational risk and controls knowledge as well as financial statement audit principles.  This individual will support process improvement, innovation, and help enhance processes for a global company.

What you will do:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and governance of business process and application controls across strategic enterprise initiatives to strengthen the company's control environment.
  • Design and implement preventive, detective, automated, and configurable controls, including process automation, system interfaces, and segregation of duties.
  • Partner with Business, Finance, and Technology leaders to embed controls throughout the system development lifecycle, from requirements through testing and business transition.
  • Drive cross-functional project execution by developing project plans, defining business requirements, aligning priorities, and ensuring successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Manage multiple global projects simultaneously, providing governance, resolving risks and issues, overseeing scope changes, and ensuring timely milestone achievement.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, accounting standards, and internal policies through control validation, financial reporting reviews, and regulatory adherence.
  • Continuously enhance the organization's internal control framework by identifying risks, implementing automation opportunities, and driving process improvements.
  • Provide strategic guidance on risk management, control optimization, and governance to improve operational efficiency while protecting the company's financial and compliance objectives.

What you will bring:

  • Proven leadership experience in SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance, business process controls, and risk management.
  • Strong background in accounting, IT compliance, process improvement, and internal controls.
  • Solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, with experience in modern technology environments, including Agile and Cloud-based systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex concepts through clear communication, data visualization, and stakeholder-friendly presentations.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities and cross-functional initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professionally curious, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and driving process improvements.
  • Positive, collaborative leader with a proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of challenges at all levels

Shift Model

  • 2:00 pm to 2:30 am IST hours window.
  • 5 days working with roster off. (Work from office)
  • Flexible working in US and regular IST shift.

Qualifications & other skills :
 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting.
  • 5+ years of auditing experience in a Big 4, regional public accounting firm, or Fortune 500 company, including Accounting or Internal Audit for a global public company.
  • Basic SQL functionality (syntax, functions, query writing / language)
  • Knowledge in AI, Power BI & data visualization would be an added avdvantage

  • Complies with policies and procedures. Demonstrates ethical performance. Supports efforts to enforce compliance with policies and procedures.
