Working Title: Clinical Psychiatrist
Employment Type: Contract
Program: Integrated Care Team(Working within Community Mental Health, ECS, Children's and Adult Behavioral Health Outpatient Programs)
Report to: Clinic Manager and Medical Director
Pay Range: Negotiable per contract
Benefits: Negotiable per contract
Location: On-site(not eligible for remote work), The Dalles and Hood River, Oregon (Subject to work in Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman Counties)

Hours/FTE: 1.0 FTE(37.5 hours/week) Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm 

The Clinical Psychiatrist provides professional, comprehensive psychiatric services to a diverse population of patients in a community-based behavioral healthcare clinic setting. The Clinical Psychiatrist diagnoses and treats a wide variety of health concerns and provides consultation on a client’s emotional, behavioral, and psychological state which may impact mental health, substance use disorder, and intellectual/developmental disabilities of patients. This position works independently and in collaboration with others to provide patient care.

Mid-Columbia Center for Living (MCCFL) is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) that specializes in providing services that are both trauma-informed and recovery-oriented to persons / consumers with mental illness and addictions. Trauma-informed care includes safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, cultural responsivity, and empowerment for both clients and staff. MCCFL serves Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman Counties and utilizes a consumer-involved, consumer-engaged, and consumer-driven model. MCCFL provides a whole-person care approach to adults and children to address both physical and mental health needs. MCCFL offers a variety of programs including a mobile crisis unit, intensive case management, ongoing counseling, community support, supported employment, jail diversion, hospital discharges, hearings, and more.

What you'll need: Any combination of education, licensure, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position’s essential responsibilities. This includes:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with completion of an approved psychiatric residency. 
  • Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in Oregon through the Oregon Medical Board, including unrestricted DEA registration.
  • Board Certification or board-eligible psychiatrist with the ability to become certified within one year of hire is required.
  • Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 407-007-0200 to 407-007-0370.
  • Must possess a valid Oregon or Washington Driver’s license, maintain an acceptable driving record, and be insurable for Agency travel between clinic/treatment locations, meetings and/or trainings. A proven, reliable alternate mode of transportation may be acceptable.
What you’ll do:
  • Determine, establish and administer overall treatment programs for patients as part of an integrated team – this may include family planning, pediatrics and general adult care.  Medically evaluate patients; determine diagnosis; provide clinical and medication management as indicated.
  • Complete psychiatric assessments and diagnoses.
  • Coordinate care with community-based resources and providers.
  • Meet minimum patient care productivity requirements as set by the Agency to meet requirements of outside funding and/or reimbursement sources.
  • Determine clinical need for medication; prescribe medication as part of treatment program; monitor efficacy; adjust, modify and discontinue medication as indicated.
  • Utilize agency clinical software system to make internal referrals, manage work schedule, and prepare current client records of treatment and reports as necessary and required. Maintain timely and cogent progress notes and service plans to required standards. Ensure that client records and other documentation are up-to-date and justify the services provided.
  • Coordinate and exchange information with other health care providers to optimize patient care; participate in regular patient staffing discussions; serve as a primary member of treatment team.
  • Participate in team and agency meetings as scheduled.  Regularly attend to email and voicemail messages in a timely manner to maintain effective communications.  Attend local, regional, and/or state meetings as requested by supervisor.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals when hospitalization is required.
  • Perform all relevant essential responsibilities using the English language.
  • Travel between business offices and attend required meetings and/or trainings as required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance; timely and professional communication; maintain confidentiality.
